SOMO supports ‘climate lawsuit’ against Shell

Friends of the Earth Netherlands (Milieudefensie), together with 17.000 Dutch citizens as co-plaintiffs, is taking Shell to court for breaching its legal duty of care by causing climate damage across the globe and undermining the ambitions of the Paris Agreement. SOMO supports Milieudefensie and the 17.000 co-plaintiffs in their case against Shell.

Shell has known about the severity of climate change and the wider impacts of oil and gas drilling for decades. Yet, it continues drilling for fossil fuels, instead of taking responsibility and pay society back for its history of climate wrecking activities.
