What is the CSDDD Datahub?

The CSDDD Datahub provides an overview of EU and non-EU companies that, based on their most recent turnover and employee figures, fall within the scope of the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The Datahub was first launched in January 2025 and updated in April 2026 to reflect the new Omnibus I thresholds adopted that year. It contains approximately 2,900 companies. These companies are part of just under 1,500 corporate groups, almost two-thirds of which are based in the EU. Companies within the scope of the Directive will have to comply by July 2029.

A company is included in the Datahub if it meets one of the following two CSDDD threshold criteria:

• It is an EU company that generated at least €1.5 billion in global turnover and had at least 5,000 employees in the previous fiscal year.
• It is a non-EU company or corporate group that generated at least €1.5 billion in turnover in the EU in the year preceding the last financial year.

The ‘Companies’ column displays all companies, including group holding companies where relevant, that meet the threshold criteria individually. The ‘Corporate Group’ column shows the corporations to which these companies belong. The Datahub also includes non-EU corporate groups that meet the revenue threshold through the sum of the revenues of their EU subsidiaries. If a parent company publishes consolidated annual accounts, it will fall within the scope of the CSDDD if one of its subsidiaries does.

In some cases, the group holding company to which a company covered by the CSDDD belongs is registered in a country unrelated to its country of operation. This can be due to holding companies being registered in other countries, e.g., for tax reasons, or because companies are owned by asset management or holding companies of the ultimate owner that are based in other countries.

The CSDDD also contains a threshold for companies operating under franchising or licensing agreements with other companies, which has not been used for this analysis due to the unavailability of data on these parameters.

Corporate groups

A corporate group refers to a group of companies, headed by a parent company, that function under one operational umbrella and have a single source of control. In practice, most companies develop and implement their sustainability or human rights policies at the corporate group (headquarters) level, instead of having each subsidiary do this separately. The CSDDD allows companies to do the same for the development and implementation of their due diligence policies and actions. Looking at the corporate group level, therefore, provides more insight into the actual number of corporations that will be directly affected by the CSDDD in practice.

Of the companies that meet the CSDDD’s threshold criteria, many belong to the same corporate group. For example, there are several corporate groups with subsidiary companies in multiple EU countries that each meet the CSDDD’s threshold criteria (e.g. supermarkets or car manufacturers). Several companies appear on the list with both their operational entity and the holding company that holds the shares of the companies in that corporate group.

Why did SOMO develop the CSDDD Datahub?

By publishing the CSDDD Datahub, SOMO aims to contribute to overcoming an important barrier to effective corporate accountability legislation: the lack of access to information on complex corporate ownership structures as well as key financial data of corporations. The CSDDD Datahub is a resource that is designed to provide activists, workers, trade unions, communities, civil society organisations, journalists, researchers, policymakers, and regulators who are dealing with corporate-related human rights or environmental harms with information on the companies involved, as well as the corporate groups they belong to. By making the names of the companies that are likely to fall within the scope of the CSDDD public, these companies have no excuse for not preparing for compliance with the law.

About the data in the CSDDD Datahub and its limitations

The CSDDD Datahub was compiled using information from the Moody’s Orbis corporate database, with additional information from business registries, company annual accounts, and company websites. While SOMO has taken utmost care to ensure the dataset is as accurate as possible, it is not necessarily complete or exhaustive. There are significant limitations to the data retrieved from the sources, as well as to the availability of information on non-EU companies’ revenue in the EU.

Most non-EU companies do not specifically report on their turnover in the EU, making it difficult to determine whether a non-EU corporate group would be covered by the CSDDD. Non-EU corporate groups are included if they have one or several subsidiaries in the EU that meet the revenue criteria either individually or collectively, and if they report their revenues on a consolidated basis, as that indicates that the corporate group as a whole meets the minimum turnover criterion under the CSDDD.
