EBRD’s Project Complaint Mechanism
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) is a multilateral development bank that primarily supports private sector clients in the 28 countries in Eastern Europe and beyond. The Project Complaint Mechanism (PCM) is the grievance mechanism for the EBRD. The PCM has two functions: Problem-solving and Compliance Review.
The aim of the Problem-solving Initiative is to restore dialogue between the complainant and the company sponsoring the project to resolve the issues without attributing blame or fault. A Compliance Review is a formal investigation into whether the EBRD has failed to comply with relevant policies for approved projects.
