Marian Ingrams

Director of OECD Watch

Marian Ingrams specialises in strengthening international standards and laws on responsible business conduct, as well as helping individuals and communities achieve remedy for corporate human rights and environmental harms.

She directs the strategic and logistical activities of the OECD Watch network, advises the OECD and its member governments on strengthening and implementing the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct, and supports National Contact Point complaints and appeals. Marian also works with SOMO’s Advocacy team to improve global corporate accountability standards and laws, and to support strategic business and human rights litigation.

Before joining SOMO in 2018, Marian completed a research grant in India on gender budgeting and gender mainstreaming in sustainable finance. Prior to that, she provided research, advocacy, legislative drafting, and litigation support for NGOs in India, Myanmar, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Marian also served for four years as the foreign, trade, and defense policy advisor to a U.S. Senator.

Marian received her BA in history from Yale University and her ‘juris doctor’ from Harvard Law School, where she specialised in public international law, human rights, and global development.
