Esther de Haan specialises in corporate accountability issues in supply chains of various sectors, particularly labour rights in the garments, electronics and extractives sectors. She has published research on a diverse range of subjects, from operational level grievance mechanisms to migrant workers. She has extensive experience working in Asia and Africa. She is a member of SOMO’s management team.
Before joining SOMO in 2001, she worked as an international coordinator and campaigner for the Clean Clothes Campaign.
Esther holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and a minor in Communication Science and Statistics with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry. She holds a postgraduate diploma in HIV/AIDS Management from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa).
