Laura Rincón
Communications Officer (Advocacy)
Laura is an all-round communication professional, eager to understand and contribute to social justice through inclusive communication. At SOMO, Laura serves as a communications officer, focusing on providing support to the advocacy objectives of the organisation. In doing so, she works closely with the Advocacy & Networks teams, helping them to amplify their advocacy messages.
Before joining SOMO, Laura worked for over four years as a communication manager at a Dutch NGO, with a focus on strengthening local democracy. She also worked as a communication officer for the Municipality of Medellin in Colombia, where she focused on promoting effective citizen participation.
Laura holds an MA in Development Studies, with a specialisation in social justice perspectives at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
