Ilke specialises in the quality management systems of SOMO. Ilke works in line with international, national and regional policies to ensure that the work carried out by SOMO’s researchers follows the strategic agreements of donors and partners.
Before joining SOMO, Ilke worked as a lecturer and researcher in the Innovation Studies group at Utrecht University’s Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development. Besides teaching on topics such as sustainability business practices, and innovation theories, she also taught research methods and supervised student research on topics such as system builders in the off grid renewable energy market. Ilke has also worked as a freelance sustainability strategist in Philadelphia and New York.
Ilke holds a Masters in Environmental studies from the University of Pennsylvania and a M.Sc. in International Development studies from Utrecht University.
