Esther de Haan

Senior Researcher

Esther de Haan specialises in corporate accountability issues in supply chains of various sectors, particularly labour rights in the garments, electronics and extractives sectors. She has published research on a diverse range of subjects, from operational level grievance mechanisms to migrant workers. She has extensive experience working in Asia and Africa.

Before joining SOMO in 2001, she worked as an international coordinator and campaigner for the Clean Clothes Campaign.

Esther holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and a minor in Communication Science and Statistics with a focus on the pharmaceutical industry. She holds a postgraduate diploma in HIV/AIDS Management from the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa).
