The guide ‘How to use the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights in company research and advocacy’ has been translated into Portuguese. The guide, first issued in 2012, aims to provide concrete support and guidance for civil society organizations (CSOs) on how to use the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

The guide is a joint initiative of SOMO, CEDHA and Cividep India and was issued earlier in English, Chinese and Spanish. It helps CSOs to address the corporate responsibility of companies to respect human rights and thereby supports local communities, workers and other rights holders to ensure the fulfillment of their human rights.

The first copies of the Portuguese edition were distributed last week at the Regional Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean in Colombia organized by the UN Working Group on Business and Human Rights. SOMO researcher Martje Theuws attended the Forum. Her report will be available on our website soon.

The Portuguese guide can be read online or downloaded.
